When do you use each of them ? Are they interchangeable in some cases?

The public is another word for the society.

The audience are the people sitting in theatres, opera houses, concert halls etc, watching performances.

The viewers are the people sitting in front of their TVs watching TV programmes.

The spectators are the people sitting in stadiums, sports halls etc. watching sports events.
