I lived in non English speaking country (Indonesia).

Recently, one of the kid from our school (Primary 5) got an English worksheet that contained a sentence : "..., this creature can be found where?".

Most of the parents think that the correct sentence should be "where can this creature be found?".  One of the teacher argued that the sentence above is correct since "where" can be put at the end of the statement too.

Can we be enlightened of whether the sentence is correct or not?

Thank you.

While in casual conversation, someone might say " This creature can be found where?", we would not write it that way. In the case of the worksheet, the parents were correct.

I asked around for the full sentence.  It was "According to this passage, this creature can be found where?".

Thank you for your explanation.

It sounds well in speaking but not in writing.
