Do I need to use a period after the abbreviation: info (information) & ASAP (as soon as possible) From my understanding, we don't use periods after "exam (examination)", "Math (Mathematics)" and words like this, is it correct? What's the usage of periods for abbreviations? Thanks!

ASAP does not have a period, nor does "info," which is a shortened version of a word as are "exam" and "math."

We use periods with abbreviations of titles that occur before or after a name: Mr. Smith, William Jones Sr.

Acronyms don't have periods: FBI
