I read this on an application:

"... if you were to be suspended by any reasons, is your obligation to return your... "

I want to know if I should use By or For

"for" would be the correct preposition to use. This is because 'for' can be used to indicate a reason.

However, if you were suspended because of a person, you could use the particle "by" -> In this case, you would be using the passive construction, which is totally different part of the language.
