Hi! "down the street" means a walking distance in the same street.

For example:

  • Ana's house is situated between the bakery and drugstore down the street.
  • If you are hungry, you should visit Mackie's Special Burger down the street.

I hope this helps.

When you're giving directions you can use that expression, down the street, to indicate that the person should ( depending of the side the person or the place he's looking for) continue walking literally means Al final de la calle.
