I have never got a chance to visit America = Not a chance ...yet.. Present perfect = Up to this present time, I haven´t visit America (but maybe someday ,it depends of the context)

I never got the chance to visit America= Not a chance...any more. Simple past (Maybe an oldman dying , waiting for the death whispering with his last breath - I never got a chance to visit America nor win the lottery- (Sorry about the dark and awful example, but a context shows this idea better)
