In past perfect tense we always use subject + was, were + third form of verb Past perfect means past of the past that is the earlier of two past actions. For example when i reached the station, the train HAD LEFT HERE HAD LEFT DETERMINED PAST PERFECT TENSE Similarly in present perfect tense the subject + has/have + second form of verb Eg I have done my work
