What is differences between "Game" and "play"?

we usually say play a game, so you can see that play is a verb and game is a noun.

of course, play can also be a noun, e.g. theatrical play.

we rarely use game as a verb, so you shouldn't say 'i gamed a lot yesterday'. i played games a lot yesterday is correct in this case.

play and game are the same if both of them are referred to a contest or in sports.
