According to linguistics ... alphabet E is always silent when its comes in the end of the word. E.g. like, kite, pipe, mike.(here E is silent ) But the thing i can't understand is If there's no E in like then its pronounced Lik /lɪk/... but as we add silent letter E its changed the intonation and becomes like /lʌɪk/. Why ?????? Please explain
