An act of "Immigration" is moving "TO" an New country from an old one.

An act of "Emigration" is leaving "FROM" an Old country to a new one.

An act of "Migration" is simply "Movement" from one place to another, close or far, fast or slow... It can apply to people or animals, or even objects... like atoms or clouds, etc...

immigration is about moving to a new country to live. You immigrate to a new country. eg: I immigrated to Canada.

Migration means to move away from somewhere. For example: I migrated from France.
